Scramble 14th August 2008

SGAScramble14Aug08.JPG

Another well supported Scramble took place at RGCH on a pleasant evening. This week teams were given 10 questions on Golf rules/decisions to enable them to gain up to an additional whole point to add to their handicap. With some brain ticklers some players were unable to concentrate on their game !!

Congratulations to the Winning Team ;-

INFORMATION ON THE SGA SCRAMBLES

As in previous years, the SGA will be holding a summer 9 hole fun competition on each Thursday evening at RCGH starting on 27 March 2008 and going on until the end of October when the clocks go back.  The competition will be based on a scramble format although the rules might change to give some variety and hopefully more enjoyment.

Random teams of 3 or 4 players, at the discretion of the weekly organiser, are formed on the night and members are requested not to organise their own teams except for special circumstances.

Tee times will be from 1645 until 1800 as daylight allows; as daylight is short at the beginning and end of the scramble season please try and turn up early to ensure you can complete the 9 holes !

All SGA members and their visitors are encouraged to attend, the emphasis is on fun and enjoyment; this is an ideal opportunity to introduce newcomers into competitive golf within a friendly environment.

While I will be the overall coordinator for the scrambles, I am looking for volunteers to run the scrambles; please select your dates by adding your name to the list on the SGA notice board in Building 102 or contact me on extension 6780.  Running a scramble is easy.  Prizes and scorecards will be available from the SGA locker at RCGH, the combination being available from myself.

While there are standard rules printed on the scorecards, weekly organisers are at liberty to use any variation on the format as they wish – a chance to get your own back on previous organisers !

These evenings are great fun, so please turn up and enjoy the first 9 holes, before a cold beer, in an easy, relaxing atmosphere amongst friends and work colleagues.
